Apex Placement & Consulting is partnering with an established bar and restaurant in Northern Macomb County to find an experienced Restaurant General Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a people-focused leader who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation while driving long-term performance and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations

• Recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and developing employees

• Creating a positive, accountable, and guest-focused team culture

• Ensuring the restaurant is properly staffed based on business needs

• Monitoring sales, labor costs, food costs, inventory, and other performance metrics

• Maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, presentation, and service

• Responding to guest feedback and resolving concerns professionally

• Developing and maintaining consistent operational procedures

• Supporting employee retention through communication, recognition, and development

• Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and workplace safety requirements

• Partnering with ownership to identify opportunities to improve profitability and the overall guest experience

• Remaining visible and engaged during peak business periods

What We’re Looking For

• Previous General Manager experience within a restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and retain a successful restaurant team

• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, scheduling, inventory, and cost controls

• Experience managing labor costs, budgets, and operational performance

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service requirements

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage employee and guest concerns confidently and professionally

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain certification is preferred
