Emergency Department Tech - Mount Carmel — Reynoldsburg Location : Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 Category : Nursing Support Job Id : 00669960 Employment Type : Part time Shift : Rotating Shift Position Purpose In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Emergency Department Technician will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization. This Emergency Department Technician position will be working in our Free-Standing Emergency Department in Reynoldsburg on an as-needed basis with rotating weekends and holidays. What You Will Do Respond to patient needs in a timely manner Transport patients and escort them as needed Perform visual acuity, eye irrigations, and equipment setups Perform phlebotomy and obtain lab specimens as ordered Follow appropriate protocols and participate as a team member for trauma, stroke, heart, and sepsis alerts, and resuscitation Perform wound care and practice sterile technique when appropriate Perform suture and staple removal, excluding facial region Perform Foley care and collect specimens Perform EKG Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, weight, procedures performed Report observations and condition changes to RN and/or physician in a timely manner, such as changes in vital signs or symptoms Minimum Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalency Licensure / Certification: Successful completion of an approved course(s) which includes basic patient care skills, EKG phlebotomy, and BLS required Experience: Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in a health-related field preferred Effective Communication Skills Position Highlights and Benefits Competitive compensation and benefits packages including medical, dental, and vision with coverage starting on day one Retirement savings account with employer match starting on day one Generous paid time off programs Employee recognition programs Tuition/professional development reimbursement starting on day one Relocation assistance (geographic and position restrictions apply) Discounted tuition and enrollment opportunities at the Mount Carmel College of Nursing Employee Referral Rewards program Mount Carmel offers DailyPay—eligible colleagues can see how much they’ve made every day and transfer money any time before payday Opportunity to join Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Colleague Resource Groups Mount Carmel, a member of Trinity Health, has been a transforming healing presence in Central Ohio for over 135 years.
