MRI Technologist - Night Shift

Job Description

The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures and demonstrates competency in a variety of technical tasks that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Practice and maintain MR safety in the department.
• Maintain clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
• Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving images.
• Read and present relevant information to the physician based on protocol before starting exams.
• Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocols.
• Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols.
• Document patient history in the electronic record as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
• Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, and documented.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and in compliance with system-wide competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
• MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if already obtained.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
• ARRT Certificate or ARMRIT certification, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with state regulations (PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73).

Schedule

Evening or overnight shifts, with the possibility of 8-hour or 10-hour shifts, including weekends.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
