2026/27 - Child Nutrition Worker - Springville Jr. High

Child Nutrition Worker Lane 1 – $17.70 per hour, 3.92 hours per day, 5 days per week, 177 days per year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. No benefits. Responsibilities Arranges food, condiments, and supplies to maintain adequate quantities and security of items. Assists student workers to ensure a safe and efficient work environment and provides role modeling. Monitors food items (temperature, portion, etc.) to verify quantity, quality, and specifications of orders to meet preparation requirements and/or comply with mandated health standards. Cleans kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment. Cleans utensils, equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas to maintain required sanitary conditions. Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition to comply with current health standards. Participates in department meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for gathering information needed to perform job functions. Reports equipment malfunctions to maintain equipment in safe working order. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Provides information and/or advises others under immediate supervision and operating within a defined budget. Qualifications Experience: Job-related experience is not required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certificates: Food Handlers Permit. Clearances: Meets Continuing Education Requirements; Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance. Skills: Basic computer skills; ability to lift items; standing for extended periods; a can-do attitude; adherence to safety practices; operating equipment used in a school cafeteria. Knowledge: Basic math; reading and following instructions; understanding multi-step written and oral instructions; health standards and hazards; safety practices and procedures. Abilities: Scheduling activities; collating data; using basic, job-related equipment; flexibility to work with data and operate equipment using standardized methods; working with others; adapting to changing work priorities; meeting schedules; working as part of a team; regular and reliable attendance. Working Environment Physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity; 5% sitting, 20% walking, 75% standing.
