Senior Project Manager- Electrification & Grid Infrastructure

This OpportunityWSP is seeking a Senior Project Manager- Electrification & Grid Infrastructure in Chicago, IL. Leading and delivering transportation electrification and grid-related infrastructure projects. In this role, you will work at the forefront of the energy transition, supporting clients across North America in planning and implementing electrification strategies, grid capacity solutions, and charging infrastructure programs. Your ImpactLead the planning and end-to-end delivery of transportation electrification projects, including fleet transition strategies, grid capacity assessments, and EV charging infrastructure programs.Guide the integration of energy storage combined with distributed and utility-scale renewables, EV charging, and building electrification into coherent portfolios, roadmaps, stakeholder management plans, and designs.Evaluate grid impacts, interconnection costs, operational constraints, and benefits (emissions reductions, reliability, resilience value, demand flexibility) of various energy transition technologies. Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex energy and infrastructure decisions.Direct multidisciplinary teams (power systems, civil, environmental, planning, economics, GIS) and manage subcontractors and partners.Drive project management activities, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality controlSupport and lead business development efforts, including pursuit strategy, proposal development, and client relationship management. Develop proposals including project scopes of work, level of effort, and resourcing plans while supporting pipeline development and client growth.Facilitate client workshops, progress reviews, and executive briefings; translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations.Collaborate across WSP teams to deliver integrated solutions.Mentor and guide early career staff and colleaguesProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification7+ years of experience in transportation electrification, energy systems, or power infrastructureDemonstrated experience in project management and client-facing rolesStrong knowledge of electric grid systems, energy modeling, or infrastructure planningProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teamsExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Engineering Experience with fleet electrification, charging infrastructure design, or distributed energy resourcesBackground in business development and proposal leadershipFamiliarity with energy policy, incentives, and utility coordinationWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $102,200 - $149,000WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
