Hospitalist

Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning for hospitalized patients. Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions presenting in an inpatient setting. Coordinate care with specialist consultants, nursing staff, and ancillary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient transitions. Respond to rapid‑response and code events, providing stabilization and emergency management during assigned shifts. Perform procedures such as lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and central line placement. Procedure backup is provided by surgery and ER 24/7, anesthesia for intubations, and respiratory therapy for ventilated patients. Deliver care for an average of 8–10 patients during the day and 3–6 admissions overnight in a 4‑bed open ICU. Schedule & Workload Shift options: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. On‑site services include behavioral health, dental, emergency, and surgery; referred services include dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry, and urology. Salary Annual salary : $457,600. Licensure & Certifications Active, unrestricted medical license (MD or DO) in the United States. Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related hospitalist‑appropriate specialty. Valid DEA, BLS, and ACLS credentials. Desired Qualifications Prior experience providing care in the Indian Health Service, tribal, or federally qualified health center settings. Familiarity with the health challenges and cultural context of Native American or rural/frontier patient populations. Experience working in critical‑access or resource‑limited hospital environments. Comfort with a broad scope of inpatient medicine, including patients with complex, multi‑system disease presentations.
