About the Role

\n

Manning | Kass is seeking a Discovery Litigation Attorney to join one of our California offices with at least 2+ years of experience. This role offers the chance to thrive in a diverse, inclusive, and flexible work environment while benefiting from industry recognition and top-tier mentorship.

Our Premises Liability Team is seeking an attorney to support and manage its Discovery Docket including the diverse range of cases. The cases involve the defense of restaurants, retail stores, sports clubs, attractions, theaters, and other businesses. The Discovery Litigation Attorney work closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation and discovery —focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals.

Responsibilities

\n

\n

\n
• Analyze case facts and assist in developing litigation and discovery strategies.
\n
• Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and subpoenas.
\n
• Assist in preparing for depositions, examinations under oath (EUOs), and other discovery-related proceedings.
\n
• Prepare discovery memoranda, meet-and-confer correspondence, and other filings supporting efficient case management and resolution of discovery disputes.
\n
• Review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
\n
• Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively for clients.

Requirements

\n

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
\n
• You must be licensed to practice in the State of California.
\n
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience, with demonstrated experience managing written discovery, discovery disputes, and document review.
\n
• Exceptional research and writing abilities, with strong analytical skills.
\n
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
\n
