Act as our customer’s best service provider at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service. Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency/after-hours service calls; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems; install projects as necessary. Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. Identify and resolve problems for various service calls, analyze repair requirements and provide appropriate solutions; complete necessary repairs and replacements; exercise judgment in methods and evaluation criteria for results. Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and Convergint in a timely manner to support accurate invoicing and job cost tracking. May provide custom systems integrations, system upgrades, audits, consultation, and/or database management; install, configure, and support network systems and equipment for assigned projects. Execute all service calls in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures; troubleshoot and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. Communicate and collaborate with team members to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center and company. Focus on preventative maintenance for installed systems that are typically less complex. Work with other specialists to cross-train on servicing existing customers by responding to service calls and supporting Customer Support Programs and small projects. Scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines for installed security systems and small or less complex projects. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. What You’ll Need Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customer needs proactively. Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems. Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision. Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper). Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required.
