Quality Technician- Level II

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician- Level II to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Support Engineers: By assisting in production-related and inspection jobs, you ensure smooth operations and help maintain high-quality standards.
• Quality Monitoring: Your role in monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments ensures that the final products meet the required specifications.
• Documentation and Records: Maintaining accurate documentation and records helps in tracking progress, ensuring compliance, and facilitating audits.
• Defect Identification: Comparing physical characteristics of components and products to technical specifications allows you to identify and address defects early in the process.
• Testing and Reporting: Conducting simple tests and preparing technical reports provides valuable data for decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Measurement Equipment: Your expertise in using and programming measurement equipment ensures precise and reliable product testing.
• Customer Assistance: Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data helps build trust and ensures proper product application.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring the proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment guarantees consistent and accurate results.

• Collaborate with Supplier Quality: Address supplier-related issues effectively by working closely with the Supplier Quality team.
• Monitor and Report: Keep track of Material Non-Conformances (MNCs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and issue reports to reduce PPM (Parts Per Million) defects.
• Failsafe Effectiveness Checks: Perform checks on assembly lines to ensure failsafe mechanisms are effective.
• Defect Containment: Contain defects on completed products both on-site and at customer locations.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

Seeking a Quality Technician Level II to support quality operations at the Rocky Mount, NC facility. This role focuses on inspecting and monitoring product quality, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with specifications through testing and measurement processes. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, supporting containment and disposition activities, operating and calibrating measurement equipment (including CMM), and assisting with quality investigations. Ideal candidates bring strong attention to detail, knowledge of quality systems and metrology, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement.
