• This experienced engineering contractor will independently collaborate with Client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk-informed tools and processes that enhance nuclear safety, operational decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
\n
• The role requires advanced system and/or design engineering expertise, sound judgment, and delivery of high-quality work with minimal supervision and rework.

\n

Responsibilities \n

\n
• Develop technical bases and supporting documentation in support of 10 CFR 50.69 categorizations, Surveillance Test Risk-Informed Documented Evaluation (STRIDE in the Surveillance Frequency Control Program), and Risk Informed Completion Times.
\n
• Specifically this will entail the following tasks, at a minimum:
\n
• Research and provide reference documentation to third parties
\n
• Conduct reviews of products with site resources
\n
• Research and resolve system design and operations questions that arise from project activities.
\n
• Provide engineering/technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues; assess impacts on a system and fleet-wide basis; and communicate options and recommendations to stakeholders.
\n
• Plan and execute assigned work with appropriate estimating, scheduling, and status reporting; manage multiple workstreams where limited standardization exists and solutions require independent problem solving within area of expertise.
\n
• Prepare and maintain thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, calculations/analyses, and supporting documentation; recommend process and standards enhancements as appropriate.
\n
• Past utility employee, preferably a past Client Employee that would already have effective working relationships with engineering, operations, licensing, and other stakeholders.

Working Conditions \n

\n
• Work is primarily performed in an office environment with periodic on-site work at a nuclear generating station as needed to support the scope.
\n
• Hybrid work arrangement may be available; on-site presence will be required for specific meetings, plant support activities, badging, and site access needs as directed by Client.
\n
• Qualifications

\n

Basic/Required Qualifications \n

\n
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant plant / corporate nuclear experience (Client’s nuclear experience strongly preferred).
\n
• Experience in the utility industry, at a site/station, preferably in Engineering or Operations.
\n
• Familiarity with fundamental BWR or PWR plant systems.
\n
• Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.

\n

Desired Qualifications: \n

\n
• SRO certification, RO or SRO license, or Technical Nuclear certification
\n
• Advanced knowledge of probabilistic risk assessment methodologies and risk-informed applications (e.g., RI-ISI, 10 CFR 50.69, risk-informed technical specifications) and related regulatory requirements.
\n
• Probabilistic Risk Assessment experience.
\n
• Proficient in principles of project management; MBA and/or PMP designation viewed favorably.
\n
• Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision.
\n
• Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. - ? 5 years discipline experience.
