LPN Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in organizing and directing the day‑to‑day functions of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff. Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as requested; manage documentation and billing supplies; follow procedures if unable to reach a physician. Develop working assignments for unlicensed personnel. Make compliance rounds and report pertinent issues; maintain communication with attending physicians. Assist in coordinating care planning/MDS process and committee meetings. Participate in patient screening and selection process as requested. Monitor physician services (documentation and visits) in accordance with current regulations. Follow up on consultant recommendations such as pharmacy, dietary, and others; provide demonstration/education to LPNs and unlicensed staff. Complete documentation procedures on patients (appropriate use of forms, timelines, Medicare documentation, etc.). Communicate with physicians, arrange transportation for doctor appointments, and contact families. Demonstrate effective supervisory skills, including fair corrective actions administered without discrimination. Provide reports/documentation to support departmental updates, corrective actions, and other needs. Assist with hiring activities (interviewing, screening, selecting associates) per staffing budgets. Maintain personnel file documentation: reference checks, screenings, corrective actions, evaluations, skills verification, etc. Review and respond to complaints/grievances (associate or patient/family) concerning the department. Establish effective inter‑departmental communication for positive working relationships. Monitor LPNs and unlicensed nursing staff for compliance with established guidelines and protocols. Maintain knowledge of licensure standards and the survey process. Monitor nursing staff in the unit for thoroughness; make rounds to provide proper care and cleanliness. Coordinate care of patients; assist nursing staff members as needed. Implement Education Program, Infection Control Program, and/or Quality Assurance Program. Promote the image and reputation of the System through servant leadership and open communication lines. Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and collaborative efforts. Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the System’s success. Skills and Abilities Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills. Communicate well with associates, patients, family members, and visitors; provide a warm and friendly greeting and approachable attitude. Respond to concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor and answer questions in a professional manner. Minimum Qualifications Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved LPN program. Active LPN license to practice in the State of Georgia. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide oversight and direction to unlicensed nursing personnel. Language Skills Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization. Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Application Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations RN nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
