Lecturer - Psychological Science

Job Summary The Department of Psychological Science at the University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full‑time Lecturer position (with benefits) for Spring 2027. Successful applicants will be able to teach courses in PSYC 1002 (Introduction to Leading), PSYC 4000 (Psychology of Leading), Industrial Organizational Psychology, Group Dynamics, and upper‑division‑level courses in their area of expertise. This is a face‑to‑face position requiring teaching in person on the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses. The position also involves administrative duties and collaboration with stakeholders to grow the Interdisciplinary Leadership Minor. It is not a clinical or counseling role. Responsibilities Teach a full four‑quarter undergraduate load face‑to‑face, including PSYC 1002, PSYC 4000, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Group Dynamics, and upper‑division courses. Hold office hours and attend department meetings. Advise students pursuing the Leadership Minor, promote the minor at campus events, and collaborate with professional advisors on both campuses to raise awareness and increase enrollment. Required Qualifications A master’s degree in Social Psychology or Industrial‑Organizational Psychology with at least 18 hours of graduate‑level psychology coursework at time of appointment; a PhD or other terminal degree and college‑level teaching experience are preferred. Demonstrated experience in leadership roles and mentoring leaders. Demonstrated history of teaching leadership and related coursework, highlighting relevant teaching and administrative experience.
