We’re looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Setup Machinist who takes pride in producing quality, precision parts. If you enjoy setting up CNC machines, troubleshooting issues, and finding ways to improve efficiency, we want to hear from you.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with programmers, engineers, and other machinists. Responsibilities include machine setup, tooling, workholding, offsets, program loading, first-piece inspection, and making adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.

CNC Set-Up Machinist

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision parts in a variety of materials and sizes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Perform complex setups, including installing and adjusting tools, holders, fixtures, collets, bushings, stops, and bar feeders.
• Set tool registers, offsets, compensation, work coordinates, and reference points on FANUC controllers.
• Prove out programs and verify setups by measuring first-run and sample parts.
• Perform in-process inspections and make necessary machine, tooling, and offset adjustments to maintain quality.
• Recognize and correct tool wear by adjusting, sharpening, or replacing worn tooling.
• Perform turning, drilling, grooving, cutting, threading, and tapping operations.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, equipment, and product issues, including rework.
• Perform basic math and geometry calculations required for machining and setup.
• Maintain batch specifications and ensure parts and tooling are loaded and set correctly throughout production.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle times.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues requiring repair.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety and quality procedures.
• Support production of parts ranging from miniature to large-sized components.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Education and Qualifications:

• Must have 3-5 years of experience

Equipment/Software Use:

• CNC Lathes (Nakamura, Eurotech Rapido, DMG Mori, Kia, Hwacheon)

FANUC and FADAL controllers
