Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year of hospice experience License: RN License for the state of Maine Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Driver's license and ability to use own vehicle Description: Seeking a registered nurse to provide hospice care. The position requires a commitment to work four 10-hour days each week. Patient care includes managing oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimer's, end-stage CHF/COPD, and end-stage neurological conditions. The average patient load for case managers is between 15 and 20 patients. Support will be provided within the department by scheduling and clinical managers as well as a lead support team. Nursing skills necessary to care for the common diagnoses listed above are essential. EMR system used is Netsmart. IV pumps will be provided through a vendor. Flexibility may be required, as the candidate may need to support other agency locations if the patient census allows. Overnight call may be required, usually once or twice a month. Holidays may also require work if the assignment aligns with major holidays. Shifts for the weekend rotation may vary depending on staffing. Business casual or scrubs are acceptable for attire.
