Registered Nurse - Stepdown Cardiac

Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

Minimum years of experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. Traveler experience required unless traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Locals accepted with rate difference.

Skills: Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, sheath removal, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, manage cardiac drips- no titration, titrate cardiac drips, chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, external CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management.

Certifications: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS. Preferred skills: Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, and charge experience.

Shift: Nights 36 hours only. Contract length: 13-26 weeks accepted. Float requirement: Will follow unit rotation. Weekend requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible).

Patient diagnoses: Atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, aortic stenosis/regurgitation, mitral regurgitation/stenosis, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.

Special procedures/unit details: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, mitral clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, amputations, other vascular surgeries, cardiac surgeries, thoracic surgeries, general thoracic surgery, post cath, post DCCV, post electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker placements.

Special equipment: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires.

Unit systems (medication, documentation, communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.

Unit orientation: 24 hours. Scrubs: Navy.
