Low Voltage Cable TechnicianLocation: Peoria, IL Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $40,000 – $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualificationsAbout the RoleIT360 is seeking a Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team in Peoria. This is a hands-on field role responsible for installing, terminating, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems for business clients.You will work on commercial client environments including offices, shop floors, network closets, and related low-voltage infrastructure. We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean installs, accurate documentation, professional client interaction, and doing the job right the first time.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, route, secure, and dress low-voltage cabling in commercial environments such as office spaces, shop floors, and network closetsTerminate and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cablingInstall and maintain patch panels, keystone jacks, wall plates, racks, and cable management systemsLabel cables, ports, and related infrastructure clearly and accurately for easy identification and maintenanceTroubleshoot cable runs, failed terminations, and physical connectivity issuesSupport cabling for network equipment, wireless access points, phones, cameras, and related low-voltage devicesRead and follow project scopes, floorplans, and installation standardsMaintain clean, safe, and organized work areas on client sitesAccurately document work performed, materials used, and time entries in the ticketing systemCommunicate professionally with clients and internal team members throughout projectsInstall and dress patch panels, keystone jacks, wall plates, racks, and cable management systemsMaintain cable management systems: Implement and maintain cable management systems to support network infrastructure.Additional DutiesEnsure a high standard of work and customer service and customer satisfactionWork effectively on your own and in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleaguesAccurately track time, tasks, and expenses in the ticketing systemStay current with industry trends, tools, and certificationsRequired Qualifications2 or more years of experience in structured cabling, low-voltage installation, or similar field workExperience terminating and testing Ethernet cablingStrong understanding of cable types, connectors, labeling, and cable management best practicesAbility to troubleshoot physical layer connectivity issuesStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and customer service skillsValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as neededAbility to work on ladders and in ceilings, network closets, and other installation environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with patch panels, racks, wireless access points, cameras, or related low-voltage systemsExperience working in commercial client environmentsFamiliarity with cable testers, punch-down tools, tone/probe tools, and labeling systemsBICSI, OSHA, lift, or other relevant industry certificationsExperience reading floorplans or installation drawingsCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $40,000 – $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
