To do so, we must continue shaping the future of communications by applying the best minds to the challenges our customers will continually face.We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our division located in Somerset, NJ, and help support our continued business growth.The primary function of this position is to perform duties associated with the hands-on assembly of specialty fiber optic devices to meet production and quality requirements. This position works closely with other technicians and engineers in the area, and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform assigned tasks consistently, including a variety of basic and intermediate fiber optic assembly processesMaintain a clean work area and clean room standards where applicableFollow established cleanliness and organization protocols to ensure workstations are maintained with all necessary parts and equipmentNotify support personnel of equipment/process problems in a timely manner to minimize down time and maximize efficiency and yieldFollow established procedures and product drawings to ensure product qualityWork independently or as a team member at assigned workstationMaintain flexibility to change to different workstation as directed by area leaderAssist other operators as requiredSupport continuous improvement efforts by communicating observations and contributing to problem solving exercisesPerform other related duties as required by managementFollow Lightera Personnel Policies & Safety Procedures and ISO guidelinesKey qualifications include:High School Diploma or equivalent1- years of assembly / manufacturing or related experience preferredBasic math skillsBasic computer skills including Outlook (email) and ability to type accurately for data entryAbility to read, write, communicate and comprehend EnglishCuriosity and desire to learnKeen attention to detailThis position offers a starting pay rate of $19.00 per hour.In addition to our dynamic work environment, we offer generous benefits programs, including medical, dental, tuition reimbursement and a matching 401(k) plan.
