At MBE CPAs, interns are treated as part of the team from day one. You'll gain hands-on experience working alongside accountants who are invested in your growth, contribute to real client work, and build skills that prepare you for a successful career in public accounting. Many of our interns receive full-time opportunities after graduation, and several of our current leaders began their careers with MBE as interns!

What will my internship look like?

Whether you're joining us for a spring or summer internship, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced accounting professionals in a full-service CPA firm. Interns have the opportunity to contribute to real client work while receiving training, mentorship, and support from team members invested in their success.

You'll gain exposure to a variety of accounting and tax projects, including preparing 1099s, assisting with individual (1040) and business tax returns, and supporting accounting services for clients. Along the way, you'll build technical skills, learn how public accounting firms operate, and develop professional relationships that can support your career long after graduation.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• Currently pursuing a degree in accounting at a technical school, college, or university
• Interested in pursuing a career in public accounting
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word & Outlook
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work onsite, collaborate with team members, and take on new challenges in a professional environment
• Previous accounting coursework, internship experience, or public accounting experience is a plus, but not required

What will my schedule look like?

We offer full-time internship opportunities during both the spring and summer. During busy season, spring interns typically work 40 hours per week Monday - Friday with some flexibility around class schedules. Summer interns follow our off-season schedule, working Monday - Thursday averaging 32 hours per week. Interns are expected to work onsite at their selected location. Specific schedules may vary based on office needs and workload.

So how do I join?

We love connecting with students at college career fairs throughout the fall and spring. Stop by our booth to introduce yourself, learn more about MBE, and share your resume with our team. You can also apply online by submitting your resume and selecting your preferred office location. Please only select locations where you can reliably work onsite throughout the duration of the internship.

Once applications have been reviewed, qualified candidates will be contacted by our recruiting team for a phone interview. If you're graduating within the next 6-12 months, we'd also love to discuss full-time opportunities.
