The Job
The Purchasing Department is recruiting for the position of Buyer I to purchase goods and services for use by County departments and districts. This position will research products and suppliers; review bids and perform cost analysis; assist vendors; track metrics; coordinate deliveries; assemble solicitation and contract documents; review and process contract change orders; and may assist in administering contracts.
The resulting eligible list may also be used to fill future vacancies throughout the County as they occur.

Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. (Experience must be clearly described in the Work Experience section of the Application.)
Substitution: Twelve (12) semester (18 quarter) units of coursework in supply management, contracting, negotiation, finance or project management may be substituted for the one (1) year of qualifying experience.
