Job Summary Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD), U.S. Army CAC executes CAC lead responsibilities for doctrine. CADD develops, researches, writes, coordinates, and produces Army doctrine for specified domains. The Editor must read, comprehend, edit, and staff U.S. Army Doctrine and possess recent knowledge of published Army doctrinal publications. Qualifications Minimum of a master’s degree in English, History, Technical Writing, Journalism, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience editing Army doctrine is acceptable. At least two years of experience teaching at the college‑level writing, history, or technical writing disciplines. Proficient in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional; certified in Microsoft Office Word Level 3 and Microsoft Office 365 Level 1. Proficient with Formal Standard English. Clearance Requirement Secret clearance required. Responsibilities Provide editorial support to CADD and Army Doctrine Program, including support throughout the doctrine process following strict formatting guidelines. Offer thorough editorial support at any point throughout the development of draft publications (Author’s Draft, Initial Draft, Final Draft, Signature Draft Edit, Doctrine Review and Approval Group Draft Edit, Final Electronic File Edit, and Preparation). Ensure all products comply with TRADOC Regulation 25‑36, DA Pamphlet 25‑40, Army Regulation 25‑30, TRADOC Template instructions, and Annual Doctrine Guidance of the Commander, U.S. Army CAC, and Fort Leavenworth. Manage formatting, references, waivers, official forms, and term usage; review all publications for adherence to TRADOC guidelines. Provide guidance to doctrine developers on TRADOC regulations, Army regulations, and annual doctrine guidance. Assist grammar and writing development for service members, Army civilian professionals, and designated authors; support classroom instruction when needed. Supplement instruction during the Doctrine Developer’s Course and ATRRS Course 9E‑F93/920‑F86 on using the official TRADOC template.
