Safety Manager - Industrial ConstructionLocation: Point Pleasant, WV, US Louisville, KY, US Cleveland, OH, US Columbus, OH, US Parkersburg, WV, USPosition Overview: As a Safety Manager, you will manage our Health, Safety and Environmental programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. This position requires someone with the ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding our policies, procedures and software programs.District Overview: The Kiewit Industrial District delivers direct-hire construction services for complex industrial projects across the United States. Our work spans multiple sectors, including data centers, mineral processing, energy and water, with projects ranging from small capital work to major EPC projects. Travel and site presence required for project duration (2-3 years) Relocation assistance or per diem options provided for project.Responsibilities:Program ManagementEnsure projects are properly setup and supported to execute the safety programConduct project site audits to review records, permits, field conditions, safe work practices, and assess employee knowledge of safety policies and procedures.Ensure Project Safety employee is completing all their responsibilitiesEnsure corporate programs and standards are executedLead safety business plan efforts for districtPrepare reports and game plan for every month DORPromote and own the safety programProvide feedback for how we can improve as an organization – ways we can simplify and become more efficient/effectiveProject VisitsProactively go to projects to assess and work with the teams to improveMajority of time should be spent on the projectsSafety Talent DevelopmentMentor and identify development needs for Project Safety employeesParticipate in interviewing and hiring safety professionalsBuild RelationshipsCollaborate and communicate frequently with Construction Management teams.Collaborate with safety professionals across the organizationManage IncidentsAccountable for incident management system dataEnsure projects are set up for effective treatment managementInvestigation ManagementEnsure proper root cause is identified and sharedFollow any corporate, group or district protocols for incidentsQualifications:At least Ten (10) years' experience managing construction projects in an environmental health and safety related area specifically on industrial related projects.Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a safety related discipline.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required.Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.Knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.Other Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.Work overtime and weekends as required.May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.We offer our fulltime staff employees a comprehensive benefits package that's among the best in our industry, including top-tier medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible employees and dependents, voluntary wellness and employee assistance programs, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
