Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift assignment requiring 1+ year of experience and active RRT/NY licensure, with floating between long-term care and acute care settings.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
• EOW (every other weekend) requirement with 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Floating required between LTC and Acute care settings across Eastern region hospitals, location determined during scheduling
• Patient population includes CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, Respiratory Failure, and Respiratory Infections
• Performs ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, medication administration, and pulmonary hygiene
• Uses Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60 equipment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Personal vehicle required due to rural nature of facility locations

Requirements

• Active RRT license required, license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Proficient in extubation, intubation assist, and airway management (nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning)
• Experience with tracheostomy care/management, sputum specimen collection, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Proficient with hand held nebulizer, T-piece, trach collar, bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Skilled in troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Long term care experience required
• 1:20 patient ratio experience

Additional Information

• First-time travelers considered for this position
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Provide respiratory care across a range of adult critical care and emergency settings
• Support floating between LTC and acute care facilities as scheduling requires
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
