Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position at a healthcare facility located in Evansville, Indiana. This role involves caring for post-surgical patients including those recovering from whipples, vascular surgeries, pre/post heart catheterizations, bariatric procedures, ENT, podiatry, and open belly surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Evansville, Indiana
• Shift: 12-hour nights from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Contract length of 13 weeks, start date 06/22/2026, with bi-weekly orientation
• Qualifications: Must hold a current active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. At least two years of solid Medical-Surgical experience, including trauma level II, recent EMR experience (Epic preferred), and relevant certifications and education (Associate Degree or Certificate).
• Clinical Skills: Proficiency in PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, tele interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), pre/post heart catheterization procedures, and strong assessment skills.
• Additional Details: The unit has 41 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 during day shifts and 1:6-7 at night. The team values teamwork and has an excellent unit culture. Candidate must wear navy blue scrubs, with no competing health system or agency logos. Cross-campus float may be required with a two-hour notice. Covid-19 vaccination is currently not required but subject to change. GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation week, but set hours will be provided outside of holiday closures.
