PRN MRI Technologist

Responsibilities Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety. Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements. Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met. Other job duties as needed. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Successful completion of a Radiology School. Certificate from College or Technical School. Certified by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS. Continuing education of the structure component to the Radiology exam. State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable. CPR certification. Valid state driver’s license, if applicable. Ability to work at several locations. Strong customer service skills. Organizational and multi-tasking skills. 5% Travel may be required. COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s Degree. Certificate from College or Technical School. Completion of a Radiology Program. Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced Radiology studies independently. Technical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipment. Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contract. Physical Requirements The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, a strong magnetic field and blood/body fluids and infectious disease. More than 50% of the time: Sit, stand, walk. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs. See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: Stoop, kneel or crawl. Climb and balance. Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
