Blood Bank Sr. Technologist

Labcorp is seeking a Blood Bank Sr. Technologist to join our team at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, OR. Work Schedule: Evening Shift: 1:00PM-9:30PM Monday‑Friday, rotating every other weekend. Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience. ASCP or AMT certification. Preferred Qualifications 3 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Blood Bank. 1 year or more of experience with QC review, testing look‑backs, and FDA requirements related to Blood Bank operations. Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers; familiarity with SafeTrace and EPIC Beaker. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Able to pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
