ThisroleispartofourSpaceandLaunchbusiness,whichhascontributedtothenation’sspaceprogramsfordecadesbydeliveringcompletesolutionsfromconcepttoflight.Weenablesuccessfulspaceoperationswithmission-criticaltechnologysupportingeverystepfromfirstlaunchtofinallanding,includinglaunchvehiclesubsystems,propulsionsystems,aerodynamicandinterstagesystems,andpayloadprotectionanddeployment.Ourhigh-performancesolutionsareengineeredtooperateinthemostextremeenvironmentsandmeetprecisemissionrequirements. AsaBuyer,youwillsupportmanufacturingandproductionoperationsbymanagingprocurementactivities,coordinatingwithsuppliers,andensuringmaterialsandservicesmeetquality,cost,delivery,andcustomerrequirements.YouwillworkcloselywithProgramManagers,productionteams,andsupplierstomaintainmaterialavailability,supportmanufacturingschedules,andimproveprocurementprocesses.Yourcontributionswillhelpstrengthensupplierperformance,maintainproductconformity,andsupportcontinuousimprovementwithinKarman'sQualityManagementSystem(QMS). Responsibilities Managesprocurementactivitiestoensurematerials,hardware,andservicesmeetproductionschedules,qualitystandards,andcustomerrequirements. Developsandexecutesprocurementplansthatsupportshort-andlong-termmanufacturingandoperationalobjectives. Establishesandmaintainsrelationshipswithkeysupplierstosupportreliablematerialavailabilityandprocurementperformance. Evaluatesandmanagessupplierperformancetoachievecompetitivepricing,consistentquality,andon-timedelivery. CollaborateswithProgramManagersandproductionleaderstocoordinatepurchasingrequirementsandsupportmanufacturingschedules. Reviewspurchasedproductsandservicestoensurealignmentwithcustomerspecifications,productconformity,andperformancerequirements. ImplementsandfollowsprocurementproceduresinaccordancewithAerospaceStandard(AS)9100requirementsandcompanyqualitypolicies. Evaluatesprocurementprocesses,identifiesopportunitiesforimprovement,andimplementschangesthatsupportoperationalefficiency. SupportsQualityManagementSystem(QMS)requirements,includingreporting,recordkeeping,productsafety,andethicalbusinesspractices. Required Qualifications Four-yeardegreeorequivalentinmachineshop,metalfabrication,orarelatedfield. Experienceinamanufacturingenvironmentand/orrelatedtraining. Knowledgeofmanufacturingmaterials,hardware,specifications,andprocesses,includingmachining,heattreating,andplating. Proficiencywithstandardcomputerapplications,includingwordprocessing,spreadsheets,anddatabases. Strongorganizationalskills,attentiontodetail,andabilitytomanagemultiplepriorities. Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills,includingtheabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithsuppliersandinternalcustomers. AbilitytofollowQualityManagementSystem(QMS)proceduresforreporting,recordkeeping,andworkinstructions. Abilitytounderstand,maintainawarenessof,andcomplywithapplicablecustomerrequirementsandchanges. Physical Requirements Prolongedperiodsofsittingatadeskandworkingonacomputer. Abilitytoliftupto15pounds. Theessentialfunctionsofthispositionmustbeperformedwithorwithoutreasonableaccommodation.
