Details Work in a Neuro Med/Surg unit caring for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week Requires working 6 weekend days per scheduling period Holiday coverage follows a per-unit rotation Floating required for the duration of the 13-week assignment Utilizes EPIC EMR for charting Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted) Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience ASN required; BSN preferred EPIC charting experience required Level 1 Trauma center experience required Skilled in neurological assessment and seizure response Additional Information Responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, and care planning using the nursing process Performs bedside shift report and delegates tasks to HCTs as needed Maintains patient safety through fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions Uses critical thinking to identify and respond to neurological changes and seizure activity RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this position Contingent workers may not exceed one continuous year on assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service American Traveler Job ID P-748701.
