Summary Jacksonville Children's Multispecialty Clinic / Atlantic Medical Management is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Alamance / Elon practice – Alamance Pediatrics & Family Medicine – JCMC. The CMA provides patient care under the direction of a physician and is responsible for assisting providers and the clinical care team with patient care, including administrative functions such as answering the phone and scheduling appointments. The CMA functions as a team member and must be flexible to work additional hours when needed. Essential Functions Work independently. Answer telephones and greet patients professionally, courteously, and with care. Update patient medical records systematically in NextGen EHR. Assist in coordinating and conducting patient care from pre‑visit through post‑visit. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. Take medical histories and record vital signs. Communicate and explain treatment procedures to patients using effective communication skills. Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, hand instruments and materials, perform injections, remove sutures, and change sterile and non‑sterile dressings. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform laboratory tests on premises. Dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilize instruments, and keep treatment rooms clean. Promote patient/family understanding of educational content and involved care planning, documenting in the patient record; provide recommended web‑based resources. Prepare and administer medications as directed; conduct medication reconciliation to avoid harmful interactions. Ensure accurate documentation of medical visits in the EHR; inform patients of after‑hours care availability as needed. Participate in workflow and quality improvement meetings to refine continuity of care. Remain current on population health data; attend in‑house training and lectures. Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy; authorize drug refills as directed. Perform other clinical functions delegated and supervised by the physician. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program. Pediatric MA experience preferred. At least 2 years of clinical experience. Thorough education or training in medical terminology. Ability to understand, communicate, and respond to the needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
