Job Summary St. Ferdinand Catholic School is seeking a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to support our PK–8 classrooms. This role involves maintaining instructional continuity in the absence of the regular classroom teacher while fostering a positive, structured, and faith-filled learning environment aligned with the mission of All Saints Academy. Job Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and ensure a smooth continuation of instruction Maintain classroom structure, discipline, and a positive learning environment Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions, lunch, and recess as needed Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of PK–8 students across various subject areas Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns Uphold school policies, procedures, and Catholic values Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times Leave clear and detailed notes for the returning teacher regarding the day’s activities Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in education or childcare required Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels and classroom environments Commitment to fostering a respectful, faith-based educational setting Must complete all Archdiocesan requirements, including background check and safe environment training The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
