Key Responsibilities Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of deli items such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, and hot dishes. Cooking: Grill, roast, bake, and fry foods as required, ensuring all items are cooked to appropriate standards. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner; take orders, make recommendations, and answer any questions about the menu. Menu Planning: Assist in developing new deli menu items, ensuring seasonal ingredients and food trends are considered. Inventory Management: Keep track of deli ingredients and supplies; order products as needed to avoid shortages or waste. Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness in food handling, storage, and preparation. Quality Control: Ensure all deli products meet taste, appearance, and freshness standards before serving to customers. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations in the deli department. Cleaning Duties: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, countertops, and utensils. Qualifications Experience as a deli chef, cook, or in a similar food preparation role. Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects. High school diploma or equivalent Food handler certification May require working early mornings, weekends, and holidays depending on the business hours. Standing for extended periods.
