Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to serve as the primary resource for inbound telephone calls, minimizing workflow interruptions due to non-clinical customer inquiries. This role involves handling calls to schedule medication delivery and payment, updating customer profiles, and ensuring successful distribution of packages.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls to schedule medication delivery and payment.
• Directly respond to customer inquiries or route calls to appropriate staff.
• Update concise progress notes for quick assessment of referral status.
• Manipulate management information systems to answer questions regarding refills and provide status of prescriptions.
• Answer patient questions during refill scheduling and transfer to clinical team when appropriate.
• Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to clinicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned, varying slightly depending on team/program requirements.

Essential Skills

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in NC preferred.
• Experience with call centers.
• Proficient in management information systems and Microsoft applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to show empathy when talking to patients.
• Professional telephone manner.
• Strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Medical office experience or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Pharmacy experience.
• Medical claims experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work environment, with training conducted entirely on-site. Once training is completed and performance metrics are consistently met, the schedule shifts to two days in the office and three days remote. The initial training schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, while the permanent schedule will be Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM EST. The position is based in Cary, NC, USA.

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
