Microbiology Laboratory Technician II

Our client, a Fortune 250 global medical technology company serving the Clinical Laboratory, Healthcare Research, and Pharmaceutical industries, is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician II to support microbiological testing activities within a regulated laboratory environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with hands-on microbiology lab experience, GLP knowledge, and BioSafety Level-2 laboratory exposure to work on pharmaceutical products, medical devices, and raw material testing.

Position: Microbiology Laboratory Technician II

Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417

Duration: 12-Month Contract with Possible Extension

Pay Rate: $30 - $35/hour (Depending on Experience)

Work Environment: BioSafety Level-2 Laboratory

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and non-routine USP, ASTM, ISO, and CLSI-based microbiological testing for anti-infective, antiseptic, or disinfectant efficacy, including:

• Time-kill assays
• MIC/MBC testing
• Sterility testing
• Microbial limits testing
• Bioburden testing

Additional responsibilities include:

• Execute testing in accordance with standard operating procedures within a BioSafety Level-2 laboratory
• Assist in qualification, validation, and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments under established procedures
• Maintain laboratory notebooks in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Support and maintain GLP compliance
• Work proactively and independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned projects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or related field
• Minimum 1+ years of laboratory experience in microbiology or a related industrial setting
• Experience working in a BioSafety Level-2 laboratory environment (academic or industrial)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize work with limited guidance
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing microbiology testing in a GXP laboratory
• Experience working with LIMS data management software
