Part-Time Bookkeeper

A local church in Annapolis, MD is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and support the church's finance team. This is a 100% onsite position with flexible scheduling (within business hours), requiring approximately 58 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and general bookkeeping duties using QuickBooks Online
• Enter and maintain payroll data in ADP (payroll is outsourced)
• Manage Accounts Payable including check preparation (510 per week; no signing authority)
• Process Accounts Receivable (low volume)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and sound general accounting principles
• Assist in streamlining and improving existing accounting processes
• Use Excel for reporting, reconciliation, and tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure financial data integrity

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in general accounting and bookkeeping practices
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and general ledger systems
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with ADP payroll systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and on-site during agreed hours
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Compensation W2 Hourly rate: $20-22/hour. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
