Diesel Technician/MechanicWe are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Horseheads, NY.You will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsTo be successful in this role you will need the following:Completes complex internal engine repairsPerforms complex unassisted engine overhaulsAbility to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic toolsDetailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and componentsMentor junior technicians including technical support and documentationCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)Valid NYS drivers license required with no restrictions.This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.A current valid license is required for this role- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violationsA CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or olderCummins is an equal opportunity employer.
