Ensures effective utilization of network management tools and applications to enhance system performance and limit downtime. Makes recommendations for purchases of hardware, software, servers, and wireless communications for current and future systems. Responsible for managing a team of network engineers, technicians and a Help Desk providing guidance and performance feedback. Operates the department within approved cost controls. This position has direct responsibility for employment decisions.Principal Duties and Responsibilities• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure, including servers, backup software, cloud services, maintenance renewal, routers, switches, load balancers, etc.• Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment to promote teamwork and professional growth.• Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and rectify outages and other performance related issues.• Ensure the organization’s overall security by working with the CTO to enforce best practices for firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, server, and network infrastructure hardening based on industry standards.• Monitor network traffic and usage patterns to forecast future network capacity needs.• Forecasting of budgetary requirements.• Monitoring and reporting security events to the appropriate parties.• Ensure the department follows documented policies and procedures.• Monitor unified communications performance and ensure technology is kept current.• Stay abreast of security concerns and vulnerabilities to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information.• Continually investigates and implements ways to improve the effectiveness of network service capabilities.• Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to upper management.• Encourages team growthAssociated DutiesProvides additional support to manager and department colleagues.Completes all assigned/required Bank training within established timelines.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) RequiredThe following KSAs are usually acquired through college education with specialized emphasis inthe technical sciences or management and six to eight years relevant experience or acombination EducationBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics required.
