Job Description
NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced NICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves working in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a focus on high acuity surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological conditions of neonates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates, including those on ventilation and with tracheostomy needs.
  • Monitor and assess infants with conditions such as Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Intraventricular Hemorrhage, and Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize specialized equipment including Servo Ventilators, Nitric Oxide, and Bubble CPAP for the management of infants' respiratory needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide guidance to families on early infant care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to a safe and effective NICU environment.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a Compact License.
  • Required certifications: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Level IV NICU experience is required.
  • Experience with ventilated and tracheostomy patients is essential.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.
Special Population

The NICU cares for a diverse patient population, including infants with:
  • Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
  • Failure to Thrive
  • Nebulizing conditions such as Necrotizing Enterocolitis and Tracheoesophageal Fistula
  • Genetic Defects and metabolic disorders
Special Equipment

The unit is equipped to handle complex cases and utilizes the following equipment:
  • Nitric Oxide
  • Servo Ventilators
  • Hi Flow Nasal Cannula
  • Arterial Lines and Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Moog Feeding Pumps and G-tubes
  • Bili Lights and Blankets

Shift Details

This is a night shift position consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, working every other week.
