Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Purchaser to join our team. This role is the backbone of our materials flow; ensuring conduit, wire, breakers, panels, fixtures, fittings, and other electrical components are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched to job sites and trade professionals.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with electrical products and terminology, understands the importance of getting the right part to the right job site on time, and takes pride in keeping a busy electrical trade warehouse organized, safe, and running efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in electrical supply, trade distribution, or construction materials handling who wants to grow within a respected New Jersey electrical contractor.
 
Key Responsibilities
•     Pick, pack, and dispatch electrical materials and components; wire, conduit, fittings, breakers, panels, fixtures, and devices; accurately and efficiently for job sites and trade customers
•     Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries from electrical suppliers and distributors, verifying quantities and part numbers against purchase orders
•     Store electrical stock correctly by type, gauge, voltage rating, and manufacturer, maintaining an organized and clearly labeled warehouse layout
•     Conduct regular stock counts and cycle checks on electrical inventory to prevent shortages on active job sites
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet trucks, to load and stage electrical materials for delivery to project sites
•     Liaise with the sales, trade counter, and project teams to fulfill urgent material requests and keep electrical crews supplied on schedule
•     Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and compliant with health & safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of electrical equipment
•     Update stock management systems with accurate inventory data for electrical products and components
•     Assist in staging job-specific material packages ahead of scheduled electrical installations and retrofits

Qualifications

Required
·       Experience in electrical wholesale or trade distribution environment preferred 
·       Forklift certification required (counterbalance or reach) 
·       Working knowledge of common electrical products and components (wire, conduit, breakers, panels, fixtures, fittings, devices) a plus

·       Knowledge of electrical products and components a plus 
·       Valid driver's license with clean driving record required 
·       Must successfully pass a background check and DOT physical examination 
·       Physically active role involving driving, lifting, and loading materials throughout the day
·       Must be able to withstand extended periods of driving throughout the workday

Preferred
•     Working knowledge of electrical products, components, and industry terminology (NEC code references, wire gauges, conduit types, panel schedules, etc.)
•     Experience with stock control and inventory management processes in an electrical or construction materials setting
•     Ability to accurately read and interpret delivery notes, picking lists, purchase orders, and material take-offs
•     Solid understanding of health & safety regulations within an electrical trade distribution or contracting environment
•     Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with electrical suppliers, distributors, and internal project teams
•     Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

• Pay: $25-35 per hour, commensurate with experience
