Director, Project Management – Partnerships (Hybrid) Capital One is a Fortune 500 bank that offers a broad spectrum of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses, and commercial clients. The Partnerships business focuses on onboarding and expanding relationships with external partners. As Director, Project Manager you will create strategies and lead a team through high‑priority projects, influencing results that directly impact the bottom line. Responsibilities Lead cross‑functional teams in driving complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction and vision. Design, develop, and manage project plans in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing requirements. Lead intake and prioritization of project‑management support requests. Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within risk parameters. Partner cross‑functionally with business stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership. Lead the Launch & Conversion of new partners and collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Technology teams. Respond to new business‑development opportunities in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. About the Person Exhibits outstanding influencing skills to drive project and program efforts. Demonstrates a proven track record of excellent project management and ability to structure work in complex environments. Passion for coaching and developing a team. Excellent communication and partnership skills across all levels of the organization. Understanding of Capital One’s Card platforms and end‑to‑end account lifecycle. Results‑focused mentality while managing a portfolio of projects with risk awareness. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience. At least 6 years of project‑management experience. At least 4 years of people‑management experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or MBA. 7+ years of project‑management experience and 5+ years of people‑management experience. PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification. Strong problem‑solving and influencing skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Compensation Salary range: McLean, VA – $206,000 to $235,100; Richmond, VA – $187,300 to $213,700. The role is also eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation (cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives).
