Talascend is currently seeking a Buyer for a contract opportunity with our client in Tempe, Arizona .


Overview


This role involves sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating materials, equipment, and services from approved vendors, ensuring compliance with government regulations and achieving cost-effective solutions.


Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and government regulations (FAR/DFARS)
• Analyze vendor quotes, proposals, and service offerings to identify the most cost-effective and compliant solutions
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal value
• Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
• Ensure procurement activities follow established procedures, internal controls, and compliance standards

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
• Working knowledge of government procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS)
• Ability to follow established processes and operate effectively under supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
• Analytical, data-driven approach to decision-making
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

The position is full-time, with day shift hours from 8am to 5pm, featuring a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days offsite based on business needs.
