Sterile Processing Specialist (Night Shift)

Job Description And Position Requirements Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift (5p-6:30a) Wed, Thurs, Fri with rotating weekends, holidays, on call. Job Summary Demonstrates competence in all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage, and distribution of sterile medical devices. Responsible for safe handling and care of equipment, instruments, and supplies. Tests, monitors, and operates sterile processing equipment. May also be responsible for pulling instruments and supplies for case carts for scheduled surgical cases. Minimum Qualifications High school education or equivalent is required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Minimum of one (1) year experience in Sterile Processing preferred, or successful completion of STHS apprenticeship. Certification Sterile Processing (CBSPD or CRCST) certification within 12 months of hire A certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Sterile Processing Technician or certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Sterile Processing applicant able to attain certification within 12 months of hire. Physical Demands Must possess good physical health. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
