Job Title: HVAC Service Technician Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of commercial experience or hold a journeyman-level certification. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial HVAC systems, restaurant refrigeration equipment, and chillers.
Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems, chillers, and restaurant refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and prep tables.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system testing.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
• Work on rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, and exhaust systems.
• Install, replace, and service HVAC and refrigeration components.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and team members.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and industry standards.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration or JM level certification.
• Strong refrigeration skills, including diagnosing and repairing refrigeration systems.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability for on-call rotation and occasional after-hours service.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• Ability to use electrical software devices (e.g., Simpro).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical, HVAC, construction, and plumbing skills.
• Experience with conduit, troubleshooting, repair, service, hand tools, wiring, pneumatics, installation, and sheet metal.
• Refrigeration license.

Work Environment

The furthest site is 2 hours away, and employees are expected to be home at night. Daily driving is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
