About Fortunoff Backyard Store: The iconic Fortunoff® brand returned to the New York/New Jersey market with the opening of seven Fortunoff® Backyard Store locations in February 2010. This position involves the preparation work necessary for delivery of merchandise as well as basic warehouse functions. The position will occasionally require the employee to work overtime hours. Essential Duties: 1. Unwraps and assembles furniture at the assigned dock. 2. Cleans and inspects merchandise for errors and defects. 3. Touch-up merchandise as needed 4. Re-wraps merchandise for delivery 5. Stages merchandise for delivery truck loading 6. Assist with Customer Pick-ups (CPUs) 7. Unload Receiving inventory containers and trucks 8. Completes other duties as assigned by warehouse leadership team SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
