Rad Tech General Imaging

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center. It also has a Level III NICU and holds a Magnet Designation. The facility operates as a Primary Stroke Center. There are a total of 636 beds. The imaging unit has 5 diagnostic beds, 2 fluoroscopy rooms, and 1 video swallow room. The clinic includes 2 diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, and 1 dental room. The average census is about 15-20 patients per technologist per day. Candidates should have strong experience with surgical and procedural imaging. The unit serves inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and procedural patients of all ages, including a small pediatric population. Required skills include proficiency in surgical procedures, general imaging, and portable imaging within a mid-high level hospital environment. Fluoroscopy experience should include ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases. Experience in the operating room with orthopedic, general, and spine surgeries is preferred. Technologists will receive support from a lead technologist on the first shift. A radiologist is available on-site 24/7. The department includes 14 technologists during day shifts, 7 on second shifts, and 3 on third shifts, providing round-the-clock coverage. Hospitalists and intensivists are available 24/7. Technologists will work with EMR systems, including EPIC, and various X-ray equipment such as GE and Fuji. PACS utilized is McKesson, and C-arms include GE 9900 and Elites as well as Medtronic O-arms. There is a weekend rotation every other weekend. On-call shifts are required, with one call scheduled per week. Holiday expectations include one holiday per contract. Shift times will vary, usually flexing 1-1.5 hours between start times based on staffing needs. Scheduling is typically Monday to Friday, with every other weekend worked. One day off is provided during the week leading up to the weekend worked and one day off the following week. Surgical scrubs will be provided in-house. The unit environment is fast-paced with a high acuity of patients.
