Registered Nurse (RN)

This role is located on a locked incarcerated unit within a hospital setting. Nurses must be comfortable working with the prison population. This position requires flexibility as traveling nurses will float to various Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially the ICU.

Shift Information

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
• Block Schedules: No

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients within a secured environment.
• Float to various units as needed, adapting quickly to different team dynamics and patient needs.
• Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of care strategies.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions promptly.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
• Accepts first-time travelers.
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel nurses.

Holiday Coverage Requirements

All agency contracts beginning in September will require participation in holiday rotations. Registered Nurses will need to work three of the following holidays, based on assigned holiday groups:

• Thanksgiving
• Black Friday
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve
• New Year's Day

Nurses may arrange schedule swaps with peers when possible to accommodate personal preferences. Contracts will be expected to extend into the new year for holiday coverage continuity.
