Environmental Compliance SpecialistThe Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for driving environmental compliance programs, conducting inspections and risk assessments, coordinating environmental activities, and leading training and corrective actions. This role emphasizes technical support, regulatory knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration without direct management responsibilities.Essential Functions of the JobManage and oversee local, state, and federal environmental regulations and Luxfer policy. Proactively research and maintain awareness of changes in regulations and facilitate communication with relevant stakeholders.Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. Develop and execute programs through partnerships with engineering, maintenance, and operations.Maintain and enhance the facilities ISO 14001 CertificationLead regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction.Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Luxfer standards.Drive environmental metricsBuild collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.Submit time-critical reports to various governmental agencies.Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and accompanying regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions.Conduct regular environmental audits to assess compliance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with local operations leadership and teams.Develops and oversees waste management programs, including hazardous waste disposal.Provide training to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.Coordinates environmental impact assessments for new projects, operations, or changes to existing processes, ensuring potential environmental risks are identified and mitigated.Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal management.Partner with Safety Manager on overlapping programs. Serve as a back-up for Safety Manager.Job Skills and RequirementsTechnical Knowledge of EPA Regulations, Hazardous Waste Management, relevant Environmental Programs (including but not limited to SWPPP, SPCC, HAZCOM), Environmental Permits and RecordkeepingStrong Analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detailISO 14001 Internal Auditor Certification PreferredStrong project management and organizational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Certifications in environmental management (e.g., CEM, CHMM) are a plus.Strong knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Office products.Experience with CERS and SMARTS CA specific web based environmental solutionsEducation/Training Requirements3+ years of increasing responsibilities in environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experienceBachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field of study highly preferred.BENEFITS:Medical, Vision, Dental *Start on the 1st day of the following month after being hired*401k with Company match of up to 6% !Life Insurance and Employee Assistance ProgramCompany Paid HolidaysCompensation: $85,000-$95,000 Depending Upon ExperienceWe are committed to a safe, drug-free work environment and pre-employment drug screening, physical and background checks are required prior to starting.
