Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with pediatric and critical care experience for a Level III trauma center requiring TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Phase I and Pedi PACU setting within a Level III Trauma Center
• Monday to Friday day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Call required
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op
• Recovers patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adults and peds), GYN, and peds ENT surgeries (T&A, BMT, etc)
• Monitors patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred, covering all surgeries except cardiac
• Pediatric PACU experience required
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Experience administering IV vasopressors, narcotics, reversal agents, antiarrhythmics, and other emergency medications
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Two professional references from supervisors within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide range of adult and pediatric surgical patients
• Required to submit requested time off (RTO) at time of consideration and expect to work some holidays
• May consider first-time travelers with strong experience
• Pending license accepted for consideration but must be active before start date
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• An on-site drug screen, including marijuana, is mandatory upon arrival and any positive result will result in automatic cancellation
