Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

This position seeks an experienced Machinist with a experience in manual machining, CNC setup, and tool and die repair to support the fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of stamping dies, forming dies, fixtures, and precision tooling used throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain stamping and forming dies to ensure reliable production performance.
  • Machine and fabricate fixtures, tooling, and weld assemblies to support manufacturing operations.
  • Perform manual machining operations using mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment to produce precision components.
  • Operate and set up CNC equipment as needed to manufacture and modify parts and tooling.
  • Utilize Wire EDM and surface grinding equipment to manufacture, repair, and refine tooling and die components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and tooling improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and tool life.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship on all tooling and machined components.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues and implement continuous improvements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience fabricating fixtures, tooling, and weld assemblies to support manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with surface grinding techniques for precision finishing of tooling and components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot die and tooling issues effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement in machining and tooling practices.

Work Environment

This role is based in a machine shop environment, working with mills, lathes, grinders, CNC equipment, Wire EDM, and surface grinding machines. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor operating and setting up equipment, handling tooling and dies, and working around active stamping and forming operations. The position follows a first-shift schedule with flexible start times and days, providing some adaptability in daily hours. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and safety-conscious, with typical industrial shop conditions such as noise, machinery, and the need for appropriate shop attire and personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
