You’ll be a working mechanic and technician, keeping operations running smoothly and safe across locations. Opportunity We’re looking for a professional, experienced bicycle mechanic who is passionate about bikes, takes pride in quality work, and enjoys being part of something that makes a real local impact. You’ll perform general maintenance and safety checks on the fleet helping keep the system safe, dependable, and ready to ride. We’ll make sure you have the support you need to do the job efficiently and successfully. Your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance and repairs on bicycles, assist with inventory, and possibly some kayak repairs. Responsibilities Assist with the assembly, quality control, and deployment of bicycles as they are built, tuned, and prepared for riders Perform routine maintenance and on-demand repairs across the fleet Rebalance the fleet to help ensure bikes are available where riders need them most Maintain a strong sense of ownership over the fleet and the condition of each bike Mechanical Qualifications An advanced set of bike tools and hands‑on repair experience Ideally, access to a mobile repair stand and indoor space to store and work on bikes Ability to perform various repairs on‑site and outdoors as needed Looking for an individual who can deliver safe, high‑quality, repeatable work and hold themselves to a high standard Ability to comfortably lift and transport multiple 50‑pound bikes, comfortably and consistently depending on operational needs Ability to use a smartphone and camera for communication via calls, text, and email Professional Qualifications Self‑motivated and able to stay accountable to goals and manage your own schedule Strong communication skills and willingness to provide updates and context Flexible and able to work with changing schedules and workloads Detail‑oriented, practical, and able to make sound decisions independently Able to think critically about what operations may need to know about the system not just respond to direct requests Comfortable serving as a professional, friendly public face while out in the field Why You’ll Love This Role As a Mechanic you’ll play a key role in keeping our bikeshare and kayak programs safe, reliable, and enjoyable across multiple communities.
