Visit TextronSystems.com & Lycoming.com to read more about who we are and the products we make!About This RoleTextron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration, vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities. Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities. We work on applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products. Check out our exciting platforms here ! We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:Developing solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope on both current and next generation technologies in support of our family of Surface Vehicle productsPerforming software development of new products across all phases of the product lifecycle from concept development to lab and offsite integration and evaluationPerforming software development at component, subsystem and system level including embedded control systems and sensor/operator interface developmentWorking cohesively on a multi-functional team with exciting technologies and productsProviding offsite integration and test supportOther related duties as assignedQualificationsQualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science or related field with less than 2 years experienceTechnical internship experience preferredC/C++ or Java programming experienceBasic shell scripting experienceNetwork/Serial/CAN interface development experience is a plusKnowledgeable of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA)/Object-Oriented Design (OOD)Comfortable working in Unix based development environmentsKnowledge of basic configuration management principlesExposure to frontend technologies including (but not limited to) CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API, databases (SQL or NoSQL), and web UI design is a plusTraveling up to 20% of the timeHow We CareAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
