About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVOR Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours (06:30 - 18:30) Experience: 2+ years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant experience 1 year CVOR experience 1 year in a Level I Trauma facility License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, NIH Must-Have: General OR experience Cardiovascular experience Thoracic experience Vascular experience Transplant experience Description: The Operating Room RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the CVOR setting. The shift will consist of a rotation of 2x8 and 2x12 shifts starting from 06:30 to 23:00, with call duties required. Flexibility in scheduling is essential. Candidates should be equipped with experience in cardiac and vascular procedures. The position involves working alongside interdisciplinary teams to manage patients undergoing heart and vascular surgery. Common open cases include Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Valves, Aortic Aneurysms, and more. Call hours are required and will be distributed equitably among staff members. Weekend call is also expected and is divided into 12-hour blocks as per the needs of the unit. Candidates must have experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary for success in this role. Candidates must be able to respond to emergencies and manage care efficiently during surgical procedures. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and infection control practices.
